As you know, Dayle and I are getting married rather soon and we can’t wait to see you there!!
PLEASE NOTE: THE SONG HAS BEEN CHANGED – IT WILL NO LONGER BE ‘IT TAKES TWO’ – SEE BELOW FOR THE NEW SONG
What you probably don’t know is, we have invited the team from Music Wedding Videos to shoot everyone enjoying the day, singing, dancing and generally having a great time to the classic tune from the ‘Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ TV Show (sung by Will Smith)
Here is the video of the song we’ve chosen for you to get familiar with:
How this works is, the guys will be equipped with lyrics and speakers on the day, and they’ll be looking for volunteers to mime along to a couple of lines from the song on camera, which they’ll then turn into a music video of the wedding day. Don’t worry too much about learning the lyrics as they will have some printed on the day and after playing a short section of the song a couple of times you’ll soon pick it up.
You’ll have a few goes at getting it right, and they’re pretty good at editing to make you look awesome. Your singing voice doesn’t matter either because they’re not going to use the audio – the real song will be played over the video footage of you singing along.
If you’re really up for it, feel free to learn a line or two from the song…
The lyrics are included on that version so that if you want to you can rehearse and remember them to perfection! Alternatively there is a link to the lyrics here too
(The lyrics are also copied below…)
We think this is a really fun way to record and re-live our big day for years to come and hope you’ll all get involved in some way.
We are looking for people to (willingly) come forward beforehand to be given specific lines to learn, and we will then forward everyone their own lyrics to perfect 🙂 If any of you do want to perform something special, please let us know or contact the MWV guys at email@example.com so we can plan it into the shoot.
Alternatively, they will grab you on the day so you get a chance to at least sing a line or two from the song or just wave to the cameras. If you’re not up for singing, don’t worry, nobody’s going to force you to get involved, though it’d be great if you could at least give us a smile or a wave so you’re in the video of our day forever.
Here are a couple of examples of a finished video from previous weddings once they have been edited and effects have been put on…

PPS Here are those lyrics…
Now this is the story all about how
My life got flipped, turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
I’ll tell you how I became the prince of a town called Bel-air
In west Philadelphia born and raised
On the playground where I spent most of my days
Chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool
And all shooting some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys, they were up to no good
Started making trouble in my neighbourhood
I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
And said “You’re moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-air”
I whistled for a cab and when it came near the
License plate said “fresh” and had a dice in the mirror
If anything I could say that this cab was rare
But I thought nah, forget it, yo homes to Bel-air!
I pulled up to a house about seven or eight
And I yelled to the cabby “Yo, homes smell you later!”
Looked at my kingdom I was finally there
To sit on my throne as the prince of Bel-air
